A Story that Needs to be Told!
Manitowoc Public Library Story...
“We purchased a disc repair machine from another company in August 2009. It was complicated to set up but we got it going.
Not too long after we started to use it, the machine started ruining our discs by leaving a hard ring of debris on the discs. The directions say we were to wipe the discs off by hand to dry them after they come out of the machine but we could not wipe this hard film left on the discs off. We were then supposed to spray a finishing polish on the disc and polish the discs by hand so they would have a nice appearance but since we could not get the film off the discs, we never got that far.
We called the company and had to send our new machine back to Arizona for repairs! We got the machine back and shortly thereafter, it started ruining our discs again with the same problem. Many calls were made to the company to get this resolved to no avail.
Our staff and pages were getting weary having to take the poly cool container out of the machine every 30 minutes or so and vigorously shake it in an attempt to keep the machine from leaving the damaging ring of debris on our discs! They were also hesitant to use it because of all the steps they had to go through.
We were finally, again, after many calls, able to get the company to send us another new machine thinking we just must have received a lemon. Within a short time, the 2nd new machine was doing the exact same thing!!!
Again, we had to make many calls to the company to get this resolved to no avail. We now wanted our money back for a product that not only did not work, but actually was damaging our discs. To our dismay, our calls to the company were not returned and several thousand dollars seemed to have been tossed to the wind.
Then there was hope!
Out of the blue, we were contacted by RTI, a company that manufactures professional disc repair machines. After telling our story, our sales rep. gave us a proposal for the ECO Smart Disc Repair Machine including a very generous Trade-In Offer for our machine!
Not wanting to get burned twice, we asked for references for the ECO machines and were surprised to find out how many there were right in our area! We received VERY positive comments from the ECO owners that we contacted and decided to try the machine.
Our sales rep. said we could try the machine first and if all went well, we could keep it per his proposal. It took about 10 minutes to get the ECO Smart unpacked and ready to go. The first test we gave it was to put one of our damaged discs into the machine to see if it could be saved. When the door of the machine opened after the repair, our staff could not believe their eyes! The disc looked pristine and brand new!! We had no idea that a disc with so much damage could be repaired!
We all took turns using the machine with our pages and we were very happy with the ease of use…just the pushing of a button…and the unmatched quality of the repair… even the door opens automatically! Needless to say, the ECO Smart was a keeper and will save us countless dollars from here on out! We are all smiles!
