RTI Group Receives
Major Contract Award
for Motion Picture Film Equipment
From Library of Congress
Lincolnwood, Illinois - The motion picture film equipment companies of the RTI Group announced that a major contract has been received to supply eight film developing systems, eight CPAC silver recovery devices and various consultancy and ancillary services to the new Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center's film preservation laboratory project in Culpepper, Virginia.
The order consists of four black-and-white negative film processors, two black-and-white positive film machines, one ECNII color machine and one ECPII color positive unit.
This will be a state of the art motion picture film laboratory as part of a new archive. The contract is valued at over $1.7 million. The film developing systems will be delivered over the course of 2005 and 2006.
Additionally, BHP, Inc. another RTI Group subsidiary, has received a contract for 2 new Model 6127RD wet/dry printing machines, which incorporate the recently designed shrunken film picture and sound heads. These new printing heads were developed to accommodate the sprockets of motion picture films that have become shrunken up to 2% due to age.
